Prep School Fresher’s Talent Show
The Prep School campus came alive as the school community gathered for the highly anticipated Freshers’ Talent Show, a vibrant celebration highlighting the confidence, creativity, and teamwork of their newest students. The diverse showcase featured intricate classical dances, energetic modern shuffle numbers, engaging stand-up comedy, group vocals, and live instrumentation on the piano, recorder, and mridangam. The evening provided a welcoming platform for the newest members of the school family to shine under the spotlight. The true highlight remained seeing the young freshers enjoy themselves on stage, making this event a truly memorable milestone.




A Journey Through Imagination: Inter-House Story Writing Competition
The Inter-House Story Writing Competition for Classes VI–VIII was held on 29 May 2026 in the English Lab. Participants were challenged to write a story featuring a man, a pet with superpowers, and a magical cave.
The students impressed the judges with their creativity, originality, and storytelling skills, crafting imaginative tales filled with adventure and wonder.

Prep School Inter House Prep School English Creative Writing Competition
The Prep School organised an Inter-House English Creative Writing Competition on 16th May, providing all Class V students with a wonderful platform to showcase their imagination and literary skills. The young writers were given 40 minutes to write an on-the-spot paragraph on one of the following five engaging topics:
1. If I Were a Superhero: Describing a superpower and how it would be used to help others.
2. My Favourite and Safest Place at Home or School: Sharing reasons for their choice.
3. The Magical Pencil: A narrative about discovering a magical pencil while doing homework.
4. A Cartoon Character I Like: Exploring the reasons behind their favourite character.
5. Three Wishes from God: Detailing three wishes they would ask for and the reasons why.
The evaluation was meticulously carried out by a panel of judges comprising Ms. Madhu, Ms. Divya Punjabi, and Ms Anita Prabhu. The students' entries were assessed based on a relevance and depth of content, appropriateness of the title, neatness of handwriting, accuracy in spelling and punctuation.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, reflecting the vibrant creativity and budding talent of our Class V students.

Lawrencians Attempt World Record with Lightning-Fast Periodic Table Recitation
The students of The Lawrence School, Lovedale have achieved a remarkable milestone by attempting to set a world record for reciting the entire periodic table in the shortest possible time.
The participants in this record-setting attempt were:
Divyanshi Shekhawat(IX)- 32.76 seconds
M Nandakishore(VIII) 31.25 seconds
Rabhiya Jha(IX), 14.45 seconds (First fifty elements ).
To prepare for this milestone, the students underwent weeks of rigorous training under the close guidance of their teachers. Their routine involved intensive memorization of all 118 elements—from Hydrogen to Oganesson—alongside timed speed drills and synchronization exercises. The official attempt took place on the school campus in the presence of faculty witnesses. Recognized by The Influencers Book Of Records, the performance was meticulously timed and documented to guarantee absolute accuracy, showcasing the students' exceptional memory skills, precision, and confidence.
Inter-house Essay Writing competition
The Inter-House Essay Writing Competition was held on 9 May 2026. A total of 53 students from Classes IX to XII participated enthusiastically in the event. The topic for the competition was “Education Beyond Marks – What Truly Matters.”
It was indeed encouraging to witness the students presenting their thoughts and ideas with remarkable clarity, creativity, and depth, making the evaluation process a challenging one for the judges.

A PLAYMAKER IN THE MAKING!
Ms. Adyaa Sahu has been selected for the trial camp for the World School Basketball Championship (U-18), scheduled to be held in Serbia from 13th to 22nd June 2026 .She had participated in the 26th Junior Jharkhand State Basketball Championship, held at Sahibganj, Jharkhand, from 29th March to 1st April 2026. She represented the JAP-1 (Jharkhand Armed Police Force, Ranchi) team, which emerged as the winner of the tournament.
CBSE Capacity Building Program
On April 4, 2026, Ms. Christy Alphonsa and Ms. Merlyn M. Fernandes attended a one day CBSE Capacity Building Program at Sainik School, Amravathinagar, focused on Promoting Mental Health and Wellness. Led by resource persons Mrs. Shyama and Mrs. Indra Dev, the session provided a deep dive into identifying emotional and behavioural distress in students. Through the analysis of case studies and a review of common mental health disorders, the participants learned to recognize subtle "red flags" and understand the complex psychological challenges children face in a modern academic environment. The workshop emphasized the critical need for a structured support system within schools to ensure timely intervention and care, focusing on the educator's role as a primary support pillar.


The Hanuman Tekri Chronicles: A Trekking Club Expedition
On 6th March 2026, the Trekking Club, comprising 17 students, 3 teachers, and 1 security guard, organized an afternoon ascent to the majestic hill fort of Hanuman Tekri in the Kell Valley to explore its natural terrain and historical significance. During the expedition, members visited the ancient Hanuman Temple and a historic cave system reportedly built by Tipu Sultan. Throughout the ascent and descent, the group engaged with the local ecosystem, spotting various bird species and finding evidence of local fauna, such as porcupine needles. In addition to the exploration, students gained practical outdoor skills by practicing essential trekking techniques for rugged mountain terrain.

Mental Health and Wellness Session
Between February 26 and March 11, 2026, a series of training programs was conducted by Ms. Merlyn, the School Counselor, for a total of 102 staff members, including academic and activity staff, administrative personnel, matrons and sports coaches. In alignment with CBSE directive, the Staff explored the School Counseling Policy’s referral pathways and learned to distinguish between Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) and Suicidal Ideation. By analyzing warning signs ranging from academic decline to behavioral shifts educators were equipped with mental health literacy. The training emphasized practical skill-building through interactive modules like the ‘Circle of Control’. A core highlight was the role-play on Psychological First Aid, where participants practiced the ‘Look, Listen, Link’ framework. The program concluded with a deep dive into parenting styles and their psychological effects, ensuring a unified approach to pastoral care.


Farewell and New Beginnings
On 9th of March, the Prep School hosted a heartfelt Farewell Event to bid goodbye to the Class VIII girls and Class V Boys who will soon move to Girls School and Junior School respectively to begin the new phase of their academic journey. The girls of classes V, VI and VII presented a beautiful and emotional programme for their beloved seniors and juniors, a lively folk dance parody and humourous skits. The highlight of the programme was the presentation of the personalised titles and handmade gifts given by the students to the VIII Girls and Prep Boys. The event concluded on a delightful note with the outdoor dinner after which the students sang and danced to celebrate their last few days together.



Centenary Special Assembly and Commemorative Events
On March 9, 2026, The Prep School marked a historic milestone with a series of events designed to honor its century-long legacy.The day was characterized by a blend of environmental stewardship, artistic performance, and nostalgic reflection, featuring Capt. Ronald D’Rozario (Batch of 1961) as the Chief Guest.
Highlights of the day:
1. The Centenary Grove:
The ‘Preppers’ celebration commenced with the planting of 50 saplings from 8;30 am to 9:30 am, symbolizing the school’s continuous growth and its commitment to a sustainable future for the next century.
2. Special Centenary Assembly:
The Assembly took place in the Prep School Large Hall at 10 am commencing with a choreographed dance performed by Class V girls to the School Song followed by a poem rendition by Seher Makhija (Class VI) and The Medley of Songs -a collective musical performance featuring all Preppers, showcasing the spirit of unity. Finally, the Chief Guest Mr Rozario spoke about the importance of bridging the gap between the old and the new times.
3."Centenary Prep School" Portrait:
Following the assembly, a historic photograph was captured which included the Chief Guest, Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster, MICs, Dean of Activities, Doctor, Counsellor and the entirety of the Prep School staff and support staff alongside the students, serving as a formal record of the centenary milestone.
The Centenary programme successfully honored the school’s 100-year journey by involving every segment of the school community—from the youngest students to esteemed alumni—the event reinforced the core values of the Prep School and set a celebratory tone for the years to come.




Holi Revelries
On Wednesday, 4th of March 2026, the Lawrence School erupted in a riot of colours! The Prep School celebrated their very first Holi—a landmark moment for our school community. Likewise, the Boys School, Girls School and Junior School witnessed revelries with water and colours. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and laughter. Meanwhile the Pastoral Care team members and Matrons kept a watchful eye on proceedings.




Here’s to Another Hundred Years!
To celebrate the Prep School centenary, Mistress-in-Charge Mrs. Anita Prabhu addressed Chief Guest Mr. Ronald D. Rozario (Batch of ’61), his wife, the Headmaster, and the school community. In her inspiring speech, she noted that the school’s walls represent more than just stone; they reflect a century of passion and energy. While the majestic Large Hall has witnessed generations of talent and the school has evolved with new uniforms and syllabi,its core purpose remains timeless.
Mrs. Prabhu highlighted the school motto, "Never Give In," as the steady anchor for the community. She shared the humbling truth that teachers learn as much from their students as they teach, and she praised the Pastoral Care team for their vital role in student development. She concluded by raising a toast for the next hundred years and reminding the audience that while staff and students may come and go; the spirit of the school is eternal.
An Interview with A Legend
As part of the Prep School centenary celebrations, Mrs. Anita Prabhu and Mr. Edwin Manoharan—accompanied by students Ihita, Olivia, Vrinda, Yashvi, and Veda—visited the residence of Mrs. Enos on February 27, 2026.At 105 years old, Mrs. Enos remains a legendary figure in our institution’s history, having taught English to Classes 4, 5, and 6 from 1948 to 1981. During her remarkable 33-year tenure, she was a pillar of the school community, serving as Librarian, Director of English school plays, and Choir Leader.The group enjoyed a delightful afternoon as Mrs. Enos shared fond memories of the former Headmaster, Mr. K.I. Thomas, and Mrs. Thomas. It was a privilege to witness a century of wisdom first hand and gather invaluable snippets of her life and dedicated service to the school.
