Strengthening Bonds: Lawrencians  Honour Soldiers on Raksha Bandhan at Madras Regimental Centre

On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the students of the Art & Crafts Department at The Lawrence School, Lovedale, undertook a heartfelt initiative under the guidance of their teacher, Ms. Swayamprabha Parida. A total of 275 handmade rakhis were lovingly crafted by the students as a gesture of gratitude and respect for the brave soldiers of our nation.

These rakhis were gifted to the jawans at the Madras Regimental Centre, Wellington, during a special visit organized on 7th August 2025. Four students — Gulika Sinha, Adiya Sahu, Siya Hanrataka, and Anika C.B. — accompanied by Ms. Parida, visited the centre at 10:00 a.m. and returned to school by 1:30 p.m.

The visit proved to be an emotionally enriching experience. The students had the honour of personally tying the rakhis to the soldiers and celebrating Raksha Bandhan with them. The joy and pride evident on the faces of both the students and the soldiers truly reflected the spirit of unity, love, and patriotism.

This meaningful initiative not only strengthened the bond between civilians and the armed forces but also instilled values of gratitude, empathy, and national pride in the young minds of our school.

at Welham Boys’ School

A delegation of eleven students participated in WELMUN 2025 “Orbis Vox,” hosted by Welham Boys’ School from July 30 to August 1, 2025, in Dehradun. The event brought together over 350 delegates from 25 schools across the country.

Our students took part in various committees including DISEC, UNHRC, Lok Sabha, and the Roman Senate, debating contemporary and historical topics such as small arms proliferation, the European refugee crisis, India’s “One Nation, One Election” proposal, and the assassination of Julius Caesar.

Through extensive research on country positions, drafting resolutions, and engaging in formal debate, our delegates honed their critical thinking and academic writing skills. Their participation in speeches, caucuses, and negotiations strengthened their public speaking and diplomacy, fostering greater confidence and clarity. Working collaboratively in teams nurtured leadership, cooperation, and cross-cultural empathy, enabling students to articulate perspectives beyond their own experiences.

This enriching experience helped build resilience and a well-informed global mindset—hallmarks of future-ready leaders and citizens.

Awards Won:
