OL BIKER VISITS SCHOOL

Capt Arun Varma, an enthusiastic Biker and an OL from Aravalli house, the Class of 1974 visited school on 11 August en route on his rather adventurous expedition from Kanyakumari to Leh.

He was always passionate about motorcycles and decided to take up this challenge on his Harley Davidson, alone and at his age. He estimates he can complete the trip in 25 days but is taking it easy and will not attempt any unusual pace along the way. He has planned his itinerary also to meet and stay with OLs all along the way, meeting some classmates after 40 years of Life after Lovedale. The young students too were only too happy to interact with him.

Incidentally when not biking, he works for the Dredging Corporation!

Best wishes to Arun!

On this solemn occasion ,to the soft beat of the drums, the Headmistress, Ms.Sangeeta Chima, hoisted the tricolour. As a true patriot ,she urged the young minds to "connect with the story of our independence" through books like Freedom at Midnight and A Flag,A Song and A Pinch of Salt.

The inspiring speeches made by the two student speakers, Aman Sachdeva and Vaidehi Vashisht as well as the crisp performance of the school band was also much appreciated by all.
